Areas of Specialty

I work with clients who are just starting to understand and take control of their money. It is a phase of a person’s financial journey that I find fascinating. 

When I was in this phase and thinking about retirement for the first time, I saved like mad, even feeling guilty about spending money. This unhealthy relationship with money did not serve me well. However, it was the process of breaking out of it that led me to become a financial planner. I enjoy helping my clients figure out how to use money as a tool and a bridge to make life more meaningful.

Background:

Before becoming a financial planner, I worked in dental insurance underwriting. It was a short stint as a tax preparer that guided me to become a financial advisor. I loved the personal connection I got during the few hours I spent doing a client’s tax returns. Now I get to nurture similar relationships with clients, but over years and life stages.
